w.h.a.t. to give

Information for Donors

w.h.a.t. envisions an educational foundation that not only raises money to fund its current year grants, but also is able to build a long-term sustaining account from which additional funds will be available into the future. To achieve this w.h.a.t. will need broad community involvement and help.  The Board is sure you will want to contribute to w.h.a.t., particularly when you understand its power as an entity completely separate from the school system and its tax-supported budget.

w.h.a.t. is interested in receiving donations from families and individuals in Hampden and Wilbraham.  Donations from businesses in both communities are also encouraged, as well as from corporations that share w.h.a.t.’s commitment to strengthening the educational system.

While cash donations are the most usual form of giving, w.h.a.t. is also willing and able to accept donations of stocks, bonds, and securities.  Naming w.h.a.t. as a beneficiary in a will or other longer term instrument is welcome and allows the creation of an enduring legacy in support of the schools, the communities, and the children.

In addition to these types and sources of giving, w.h.a.t. is pleased to accept donations from other philanthropic groups, trusts, and foundations. As a tax-exempt public charity, w.h.a.t. can assure these entities that it is an appropriate recipient of these types of gifts.
